Halcraft Pretty Palettes Reveal – April 2017

img_2592You can see in my past blog post here a list of what these beads are, but here is a picture reminder.

I absolutely loved these beads, and managed to utilize all of them in some way.

The first beads I wanted to use were these matte purple agate beads. I have to admit, I have an obsession with matte. Like, I’m a crazy person. I am ashamed to count the number of matte lipsticks I have. But I digress.

With these I wanted to join in on a trend that I’ve been watching but not really participating in: oil diffuser bracelets. I was inspired to right a post about them which you can read here.

I ended up absolutely in love with the bracelet I made. It is bright in time for spring and the finally improving weather (anyone else suffering in New England?), and I think the silver pairs so well with this unique white lava rock and the agate beads. It is on sale here.

img_2594I tackled this pile of mess next planning on making my first multi-bracelet set. I’m not happy with how everything turned out, but I tried a couple new methods, and I do think I learned some things from it. Like that I need to get better at using wire, and measuring things before I make them.

I usually steer away from the blue tags for the sake of my wallet but I just had to have these luminous chunks, and they paired so well with the lavender and earth tones in the other bracelets in the set.

This set will not be going on sale, however contact me with any interest in the whole set or any individual piece.

I followed this with another bracelet set, this time in a more comfortable realm for me, stretch bracelets. Most of my bracelets are stretch bracelets, which I prefer because they will fit anyone’s wrist, or can be easily resized, whereas I find picking a length for non-stretch difficult, and resizing frustrating.

Thus, for the first time I strung my paired beads separately, making mono-bead bracelets and pairing the whole bracelets instead of combining them all on one. They can be bought here.

This next bracelet was composed with green aventurine and copper-colored metal beads. I don’t have much to say about it; it’s one of my favorites, but it’s also nothing new for me. I love the vibes of green aventurine though, so happy and pleasant.

This can be bought here.

Unakite is an earthy stone that is perfect now as spring comes, as it is good for planting and for finding an animal guardian. I decided to let the natural variations of the stone shine on their own with small accents.

You can purchase here.

Finally, I paired these turquoise beads with natural white howlite. The blue and white pair so well together and both bring a calm vibe to an ocean-y bracelet. You can purchase here.

5 Best Oils for Oil Diffuser Bracelets

One of the new trends in the jewelry market is aromatherapy bracelets. These bracelets utilize clay beads or lava rocks to hold essential oils that provide therapeutic benefits throughout the day. Here is a guide to some oils to use.
*This post contains affiliate links. I will never link to products I do not like and trust.*

Lavender essential oil is one of the most relaxing and calming oils available. Using this in a diffuser bracelet will keep one’s anxieties at bay for the whole day. It is especially beneficial besides calming stones like amethyst, or hematite to absorb negative energy.

As summer comes closer, this one can come in handy. Eucalyptus oil on an oil diffuser bracelet can act as a natural mosquito repellent without any of the nastiness in some commercial options. Plus, it looks cute and doesn’t make you smell weird. It’s also useful for clearing your nose if you have a cold or allergies without carrying VapoRub with you everywhere.

Lemon – energy

The bright smell of lemon essential oil is great for bringing up your energy. If you are finding yourself fatigued or hitting that 2pm lull really hard, lemon oil might be a good option for you in a diffusor bracelet, and it will leave you always smelling fresh.

Grapefruit – positive mood

If you suffer from low mood or are feeling “bleh” every day, an oil diffuser bracelet with grapefruit oil can help. When days are stressful or bringing you down, grapefruit is a natural mood booster. The sweet citrus smell is just nice to have around anyway!

Rosemary – focus

If you’re a student like me, this one will be great for you. Rosemary oil enhances mental focus so you can have a clear mind and get work done. And don’t worry, it won’t make you smell like roasted chicken.

If you want to try the benefits of an oil diffuser bracelet, you can check out the options I have here.

Midsummer Bath Ritual

Bath Spell for Self Love

The solar energy of Midsummer is great for a good, cleansing, self-love bath spell, to clear yourself and fill yourself with joy on the longest day of the year as we head to the shorter days that rob some of us of our energy and happiness.

  • rosemary
  • cinnamon
  • orange essential oil

Run a hot bath, as hot as you can stand. Pour cinnamon and dried rosemary into the bath to a level that seems pleasurable to you. Add 5 drops of the orange essential oil. Enter the bath slowly, foot by foot, visualize the heat as the light of the sun spreading and clearing your body of all negative energy. Enter the bath further as each portion of yourself clears. Once in the bath, you may find yourself in a state to pray to whatever deities or spirits are appropriate for you.

For an added bonus, you can use your MIDSUMMER Sugar Scrub. Massage the scrub into your body and visualize the layer of dead skin the sugar scrubs off as the layer of the spiritual grime the world has put on you, being gently rubbed off with the scrub.

Keep an eye out for more Midsummer posts as the holiday approaches.

Crystal Spotlight: Citrine

Re-posted from my other blog with my friend, Growing Ever Upwards.

Could this also be titled Danny Wasn’t Prepared to Write a Blog Post? Yes. Yes it could, but here we are, strap on in and learn about citrine, one of my faves.

Citrine is a type of quartz, turned yellow/orange by its high iron content. Citrine, true to color, is a solar stone, energizing and healing. It is also a good stone for the Solar Plexus chakra, having to do with self-confidence and will power, which is again energized by solar energy.

Physically, citrine is good for issues of digestion, including stomach troubles, as well as the pancreas, endocrine problems, urinary problems, and immune problems.

Mentally, citrine, with its strong positivity, is good for self-confidence, alleviating depression, preventing self-destructive behavior, combating self-doubt, and avoiding anger.

It is an extremely positive stone and will not absorb negative energies. It is good to have around to promote positive energy in the area, and does not require cleansing. However, if you want to cleanse it, sun-cleansing is best for this solar stone. Use early morning light and do not leave the stone in direct, strong sunlight for any long period of time, as it will lose its color.

Most market citrine is heated amethyst or smokey quartz, but I personally do not believe that harms their quality in healing or spell-making.

Bonus fact: I sell citrine bracelets and earrings on Etsy, and will soon be adding more citrine listings. Sorry for the self-promo! Happy crystal using!
